Such a fun alternate timeline! Easy to learn the basics. It has enough in it to have some fun, but you'll need access to a size 3 unit to use an "officially approved list". This is minor, as the ability to aquire fleet boxes and the like is a ways out. The pre-painted ships look good, and there's quality punch-outs for running 2 cruisers and 2 destroyers for both French and German forces. The rules in the starter box cover enough to enjoy most of the game, however the stand alone "core rulebook" is something i'd recommend as you get a torpedo based French unit with sans rules or tokens.. maybe a few more reasons to aquire the rulebook, but all in all there's enough of the game in the starter rules included.
