Overview:

The Tocho is another OmniMech made by Clan Stone Lion. Named after the word meaning Mountain Lion in Native American Hopi language on Terra, this Light OmniMech certainly has a good bite to it, but you should not underestimate the strength of this unit.

Manufactured alongside the Tau, Gryphon, and Haider within the Niles Industriplex Alpha site, you will notice several components within its build are the exact same across all models mentioned. This allows Clan Stone Lion to handle repairs with a minimum of downtime as numerous different components aren’t needed.

Capabilities:

Mounting only 6.5 tons of pod space, it is a little short on weapons, yet its blistering speed and standard supercharger make it an unbelievably hard target to hit. Only one other design can surpass the Tocho, and that’s the Coyote’s new Boyyi. Unknown at this time is if the designers that created the Tocho were the ones that were captured by Clan Coyote through trial, but it would seem as such due to the speed & weapon profiles of both designs.

Protecting this design, if you are able to hit it, is 5.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor, maxing out the protection for a chassis this size.

The Prime variant uses a single ER Large Laser and ER Medium Laser, both tied in to a Targeting Computer, and using Light Active Probe to seek out the enemy.

The A variant comes equipped with an iATM-3 and ER Medium Pulse Laser while the B variant uses a single iATM-6 as its only weapon, but be warned, with 3 tons of ammunition, it is not going to retire from the battlefield quickly.

The C variant has a jump capacity of 120 meters, and uses dual Improved Heavy Medium Lasers, and a single Improved Heavy Small Laser.

Lastly the D variant packs a Light Active Probe to seek out hidden units, only to use its Targeting Computer to aim the Improved Heavy Large Laser to inflict some heavy damage.

Deployment:

Although part of front line galaxies, it is hard to find this unit, but when you do it usually is already too late. Used to help the Tau out in taking out command units, the Tocho will scout ahead and report back an enemy commands location, then proceed to harass the unit until the Tau shows up to finish the job. Seen numerous times in this paring, the combined units have taken out several main command units, allowing the rest of the galaxy easy pickings due to no command presence for their enemies.

Seen throughout the invading clans, only Clan Stone Lion uses them in excess, while the Adders and Cobras use them in limited form. Only Clan Coyote has a significant number of these units, typically paring them up with the Boyyi during joint strike operations between Clans to create ultra-fast Harasser or Recon Stars.
