Overview:

    Born late from the ashes of the war against The Society, the Pantelon was Stone Lion Khan Magnus DelVillar’s vision of aa Assault OmniMech for the Stone Lion MechWarriors. While the name was taken from ancient the ancient Terran Greek word for “all lion”, this design was produced with the help of Clan Star Adder, is has become a popular choice for ristar MechWarriors within Clan Stone Lion.

     Per our captured data from battlefield salvage, the Star Adders supplied some specifications for the material necessary to manufacture the Pantaleon, most notably the chassis and Ferro-Lamellor armor. The other components are either newly introduced at Tokasha MechWorks, or updated versions from previous designs. There is also loose evidence, that the Star Adders helped the Stone Lions retrofit a line at the old Wolf’s Dragoons outpost in the Deep Periphery where this design is manufactured in a sub facility that also manufactures the Aries OmniMech. We must contact the Dragoon’s to see if they still have that location of their old Deep Periphery outpost once used by the old Wolf himself.

Capabilities:

    Although only of average speed for an Assault OmniMech, the design comes with a Supercharger as a base component, so the OmniMech can reach up to 87 kph, thereby helping keep pace with normally faster units. Targeting Computers are seen in two design variants, thus allowing the Stone Lion MechWarrior deadly accuracy when placing their shots. Finally, Ferro-Lamellor armor protects the OmniMech, making it very hard to take down due to the protection provided. As with the Clan totem animal the Stone Lion, these OmniMechs are quite fierce, easily distracting, and quite deadly. Not a single Pantaleon has been downed on the battlefield, so we have no samples on hand to give you further information on its design or capabilities.

    Pantaleon Prime hits hard, using dual Class 30 Hyper Assault Gauss Rifles, a single Improved Heavy Large Laser, and a hidden Medium Pulse Laser. The A variant is the Stone Lion answer to the Hellstar. Using quad ER PPC’s, tied in to a Targeting Computer, along with an ECM Suite and Active Probe. Unfortunately, this design is terrible at handling the heat produced by an Alpha Strike, so if you can push this design, you may be able to down one. The B variant is a Duel Fire Support unit using quad iATM-9’s, a bevy of ER Lasers, and an ECM Suite and Active Probe. With plenty of ammunition, this variant will not withdraw from the battlefield for a long time.

     The C variant uses twin Large Pulse Lasers, and six Medium Pulse Lasers, all tied in to a Targeting Computer with the ability to jump up to 120 meters and an ECM Suite combine to make this a nightmare in any close encounter. Slight heat issues with this design, but nothing that any average MechWarrior could handle. The D variant is the last one we could find before putting together this report. It uses a single Class 40 Hyper Assault Gauss Rifle, twin ER large Lasers, and a single Medium Pulse Laser along with an ECM Suite, but can also jump up to 120 meters.

Deployment:

    Most prominent within the front line galaxies, although developed with Star Adder help, the Pantaleon is typically found within only the Stone Lion touman. A limited few of this OmniMech have been seen in other Clans’ toumans, while this is of no surprise, there are other compensations that the Star Adders get from the Stone Lions for their help in the development & manufacture of this design.

     Being an Assault OmniMech, you are bound to see multiple versions of this design on the battlefield, both in Assault Stars as well as Battle and Command Stars. Typically used as a Command OmniMech, but seen in other roles, the design is widespread within the touman of the Stone Lions. Every front line galaxy has numerous amounts of Pantaleon’s on hand, causing us to believe that this is the Stone Lions primary design. Being a newer Clan, they more than likely have not had the resources to develop many other OmniMechs, let alone standard BattleMech designs.
