To our customers residing in Germany...please see the VERY important message below in regards to orders from you.
Starting July 1st, the German government will be implementing the "VerpackG" for ALL inbound orders from any international market. This will unfortunately cause a disruption in ordering, at the very least in the short term, anything from outside your country.
If you are not already aware, this new program is a recycling and recovery system your government has created to help offset the impact to the environment for single use packaging. Any company shipping to Germany has to register and fill out quite lengthy paperwork which includes detailing out ALL packing used to ship and store the items and what they are made of (including but not limited to blister card material, blister plastic material, packing material such as paper, air pillows, packing peanuts, etc), and then pay the German government a quarterly or yearly amount to offset the costs for the recovery of packing material from your recycling system.
This will affect EVERY business, small or large, it won’t matter who it is. I do not have the legal knowledge to sift through the overall legalities of this program, and in speaking with a legal advisor, it would be much more expensive for me to implement on this end then it would be for the number of packages that ship to Germany in a yearly total.
Due to this timeframe issue of July 1st, I’ve had to disable ALL shipping to Germany as any package shipped now would need to be delivered PRIOR to July 1st and that just won’t happen due to the current state of the shipping issues globally.
As stated by one of our partners in this community, this will really damage the German BattleTech scene. Your passion for this game is HUGE, and it always has been. Your support of Aries Games & Miniatures through the years has been outstanding, and I really tried to do whatever I could to avoid this decision…but due to how your government wants to handle this…there was no way around it.
My best advice to you is to seek out people in near by countries you know, see if you can ship to them, and then meet up with them to do a hand off of goods. It’s the only way around this issue for now.
Thank you for the years of support, I really wish there was a better solution to the issue, but I will continue to monitor the situation.
